I've come to the end of a sketchbook, which always seems to corespond with some sort of new chapter opening up in my life. I've spent the past two weeks covering classes for one of my old professors while he was in Japan, which leads me to think that I should get my MFA. I would have the opportunity to teach, which I greatly enjoy, as well as create work.
During the time I was teaching, I continued experimenting with monoprints. I realized that it is possible to create monoprints with acrylics instead of oil based inks or paints by altering a few steps in the process. I'll be spending a few more days up in the printmaking room taking advantage of my professor's offer to use the presses whenever I would like. I'm hoping to get some beautiful pieces when I'm done.
